Started decorating for the 4th of July
Almost time for fireworks!! Yippee

This is a beautiful orchid that always has
many many blooms. I love the color.
More Halloween mulch and
wild violets from North Carolina
I finished the front garden by the entrance to the house.
I am so excited I finally found black mulch.
Pierre Andre says it is Halloween mulch. Perfect...

This is the Japanese Juniper I planted this week.
I love the way the branches cascade down.

I am happy to report that one chimney swift egg has hatched.
It occurred some time between midnight and six am on Friday
June 18th. I don't know if there are any more eggs. They can lay from one to seven. They don't all hatch at the same time, but about
eight hours apart. So maybe there will only be one baby this year.
This is a photo from the book I have-Chimney Swifts: America's
Mysterious Birds above the Fireplace by Paul & Georgean Kyle.
Wish I could see mine. He or she is quite loud at feeding time.
The cats sit in the fireplace trying to figure out where the birds are.

Steve caught a big Oscar in the lake.
Don't worry he released him and he's fine.

Megan and Steve cleaned the old boat
and went out fishing on the lake over
Memorial Day weekend.
